Applications - Bel Canto Course

Applications are now closed for The Georg Solti Accademia's Bel Canto Course for Singers in 2024. Applications for the 2025 course will open in autumn of 2024.

Age Requirements : Applicants for this course should be 32 years old or younger on the first day of the course.

Pre-Screening Requirements: The first round of the application process is a pre-screening round. You must include two video recordings of you singing two arias from the Italian opera repertoire. The repertoire you submit must be sung in Italian, by an Italian composer, and be written after 1810 (ie. Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini, Puccini, Verdi, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, etc). You may opt to submit an aria and an Italian song, if you'd like, so long as the song meets the same composer/language requirements (ie. Tosti, Respighi, etc). Pieces by Mozart and Handel are not acceptable for this application and course.

You will also be asked to provide contact information for two recommenders who will be asked to complete a questionnaire about you. These two individuals should professionals in the opera/classical music industry (ie. conductors, voice teachers, coaches, pianists, intendants, agents/managers, etc) and should be able to speak to your musical ability, potential, and professionalism.

Round Two (Live): Selected applicants will be offered a live audition in London, England. Any invited applicant that is unable to travel to London at this time will be offered an opportunity to complete the second round audition online.
